CPD Training in Local Government

£0.00 / unit

Continuing Professional Development sessions for councillors and local authority staff aiming to give them a better understanding of the policy context
The United Kingdom leaving the European Union in 2020 has had a major impact on local government with the loss of a key funding source - the European cohesion and structural funds. The first class will explore the consequences in relation to policy-making in an attempt to look for solutions. Local Government has long been affected by party politics and national government agendas. The Conservatives prioritised ‘levelling up’ while the Labour government elected in 2024 is currently focusing on English ‘devolution’. The second class will explore and analyse these different elements and dimensions.
