Chinese Mandarin Language Beginner Course (two options, an in-person class or an online class)

| A 9 week Chinese Mandarin language course for all students, staff and general public. There are two classes to choose from: an in-person class on Mondays at 12.15-13.45 at Lancaster University, from 13 October 2025 to 8 December inclusive OR an online class on Tuesdays at 18.15-19.45 at Lancaster University, from 14 October 2025 to 9 December inclusive. Please indicate below which class you will choose to attend. |
| For learners with no prior knowledge of Mandarin. Participants will learn basic phonetics and tones and use about 200 words around the following topics: greetings, countries, nationalities, occupations and family members. To make progress during the course you will need to allocate at least 3 hours per week for revision of each class and learning characters. |
