Chinese Mandarin Language Beginner 1 Course

| A 9-week Chinese Mandarin language course for all students, staff and general public. There are two classes to choose from: an in-person class on Mondays at 12.15-1.45pm at Lancaster University Confucius Institute (The Roundhouse) or an online class on Tuesdays at 6.15-7.45pm. The classes will take place from week beginning 12 October to week beginning 7 December 2026. |
| For learners with no prior knowledge of Mandarin. Participants will learn basic phonetics and tones and use about 200 words around the following topics: greetings, countries, nationalities, occupations and family members. To make progress during the course you will need to allocate at least 3 hours per week for revision of each class and learning characters. | ||||
