Join us at Lancaster Castle for a special two-part event looking at Richard III as lord of the North. We'll start off with a morning study event in the Lancaster Suite contextualising the real Richard with speakers including Dr Sarah Rose (Lancaster University). We will then move over to the newly-renovated Castle Keep to join Professor Alison Findlay (Lancaster University School of Arts) for Dramatizing Richard III, an afternoon with celebrated historical author Philippa Gregory., an afternoon with celebrated historical author Philippa Gregory. Philippa will focus on her play Richard, My Richard in a two-hour conversation illustrated by dramatic excerpts, giving an insight into her creative engagement with history. This will be followed by a Q&A session and an opportunity to purchase signed copies of her new novel Boleyn Traitor. Tickets can be booked for both events, or for the afternoon session only. Morning session includes a coffee/tea/biscuit refreshment break. Lunch is not provided but can be purchased locally.
